The Ukraine Invasion

I’ve been wondering where the pro-Ukranian Russian militias stand in all of this.

Could their invasion of Belgorod in May have served as a demonstration project for Prigozhin ?

Ahh… words of rationality. Easier to be on the outside looking in for all. Thought went into that post. Thank you

The Russians fighting for Ukraine, presumably been fighting in bakhmat at some time. Against the group. Don’t see 2 getting together. We are in unseen circumstances.

Mmmm…Rachel Ray…

What happens in all of the other places (e.g., Syria) where Putin is using Wagner as his muscle?

From a friend:

me: Remember in season 2 of Buffy when Spike comes into town and immediately kills the Chosen One, unceremoniously ending that plotline and killing off the traditional big bad, but now they have to deal with an equally evil and much less predictable Spike and Drusilla?

my friend: I asked you what’s happening in Russia right now

me: And I’m explaining it.

I wonder if Putin is reconsidering the wisdom in giving a sociopath a private army of criminals.

I’ve seen reports of Wagner on the outskirts of Moscow and Putin has fled to one of his compounds. The idea that Pritzy and Putin are in cahoots seems dead. There may not be enough troops in Russia sufficiently loyal and competent to stop Wagner. Second best army in Russia.

And now Prigozhin says it’s over and they’re heading back to Ukraine. Wow.

Lukashenko apparently talked him back from the edge. There’s more to this, but who knows what?

Sounds like the check cleared.

Not sure how Prigozhin expects to get out of this alive.

But written by whom? Maybe not Putin…

Great post, but do people really still think Russia is some kind of communist state? Haven’t we all known since Putin that it’s end stage capitalism writ as it really is?

Never underestimate people’s ignorance.

It appears that:

Prigozhin will move to Belarus, criminal charges dropped (where I’m sure he will live a long, peaceful, totally unparanoid life);
All Wagner fighters who did not participate in the march will be folded into the Russian army;
The other fighters will not be prosecuted, but unclear what actually happens to them;
Wagner as a PMC no longer exists

eta: not so fast on that last one

I wonder what it’s like to live in a house with no windows.
