The Ukraine Invasion

Just saw a retired general describe the new Russian conscripts as “human speed bumps in the face of the Ukrainian advance”.

Man, that’s a throwback. Seems like forever that I’ve heard anything about Daily Kos.

The Daily Kos is pretty much regarded as communist propaganda by the GOP, so it’s probably not followed by many of the Fox News crowd.

Fox is probably seeing red that this is happening while Biden is on the job and not TFG. Of course, I’m sure that their praise for supplying all of the weapons that the Ukrainians seem to be wielding so well will be as effusive as their derision when the Russians first invaded.

I thought the GOP loved communist propaganda these days.

Trump wanted Ukraine to lose. He tried to weaken NATO, and he was impeached first time around for withholding military support to Ukraine because he wanted them to do him a favor.

There is zero chance Trump could have found Ukraine on a map. Hell, he couldn’t have found it on a Risk board.

Just like with the documents he decided to keep, he was just doing what he was told by Uncle Putie.

Sure, but once there was a military success to stand in front of, there was zero chance that he and his media megaphone weren’t going to be out there driving the tank Dukakis-style.

Don’t you mean “DeSantis style”?

My expectation, and I’m sure the intelligence folks will be watching very carefully, is that after Putin is deposed (or dies from whatever illness he’s suffering, or falls out a window), the new team is going to go after theft, embezzlement, and record falsification hard (at least in the military; they probably need to leave other business alone in order to keep the support of those kleptos). Economic sanctions are going to make it hard to replenish their military stores in the first place. They won’t be able to allow any of the money they put toward a rebuild to simply disappear. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that a whole bunch of military folks fall out of windows.

That makes sense. Because firing squads require bullets.

Exactly. Fox is pissed that Russia hasn’t conquered all of Europe.

And bullets aren’t cheap:

Oof!

During the Kharkiv offensive they lost 100 tanks in 100 hours.

I mean…that’s just careless.

It’s worth noting that, in Russian tank-naming protocol, the number designates the year the design first went into service.

It’s a strange coincidence that Russian military leadership has diminished in competence just as Putin took direct command of the S.M.O.

That was great, the hair and then Phil Hartman!!

I still miss him.
