“Not great, not terrible.” - Putin
It appears Ukraine has hit a Russian airbase IN Crimea.
I hope it’s battlefield prep for the ass-whoopin’ to come for the Russians.
It seems like the Ukrainians are very patient and good at slowly building up to what they want to do. My guess is the Pentagon is enjoying working with them quite a bit.
They are learning, in great detail, exactly what are and are not the military capabilities of the Russian Federation.
I think it is important to note that the war-fighting doctrine employed in Ukraine is not in accordance with NATO doctrine. Geopolitics prevents the “Air Supremacy First” doctrine of NATO.
I think we all know how NATO’s air superiority first doctrine would go against this Russian army.
Obviously there’s a lot of secrecy with the war but it sounds like the Ukrainians have figured out some new and creative ways to wage war. A lot of retired military people are commenting that we are probably learning as much from them as they are from us.
The Russians literally do not know what hit them.
Ukraine has begun a counteroffensive in the Kherson area. Early reports tell of more than one breakthrough. This is, of course, influenced by a heaping helping of “Fog O’ War”, but early indications are that Ukraine has had some early success. I hope it’s true.
That’s flat, wide open country around Kherson. A difficult place to mount an offensive and one can only successful with highly coordinated combined and concentrated arms. If this counteroffensive is successful, Russia will very quickly call for peace talks to try to freeze the front.
Glory to Ukraine!
Sounds like they prepared Mr. Tzu’s golden bridge that’s just wide enough for Russian troops to retreat but they have to leave their heavy equipment. Also reports of mass surrender but of course, fog of war so we’ll see in a few days.
Last night I was trying to actually get some sleep and then before bed I said “Let’s open up the ol’ news and see what’s going on…’Kherson Offensive Has Started’….well there goes my sleep.”
At the beginning of the war they clearly said that if the Russians come to Ukraine they are entering hell and will die sooo…
Thoughts and prayers for the russkies,
It sounds like they’ve been shaping the battlefield the last few months and are not slowly applying the thousand cuts. It’s amazing how well the Art of War still holds up. The Ukrainian government and military have called for a blackout in the area so we might not know much for awhile.
Thoughts and prayers.
They really need better windows in general
