They were threatening castration. Are we gonna split hairs here?
It sounds like Ukraine “retreated” across the river to higher ground where their artillery was already set up. They let the Russians waltz into the kill zone and then ate them for breakfast from a distance. Now they’re mopping up with urban combat and have taken a resupply line. Apparently the Russians are dying like flies and might end up surrounded before long.
Thoughts and prayers.
You really do hate to see it.
It’s over, Anakin.
That’s probably exactly how it went down too.
I wonder which WWII combatant they learned that from?
This is good news. Equipment-wise, Ukraine is bombing the Russians back to the Stone Age.
HIMARS are there and being used already with video goodness of them launching.
Yep, Ukraine is loading up on state-of-the-art equipment. Meanwhile, Russia has lost so much of its modern tank and artillery equipment that it’s rolling out 1960s era shit. This divergence means that the annihilation of Russia’s fighting forces will accelerate.
I’d love to believe this, but the maps of territory exchanges don’t really seem to bear it out. It still looks to me like there’s a chance of Russia encircling Ukrainian forces in the east, and if that happens it’s going to be hard on the Ukrainians regardless of what generation equipment the Russians are using.
Of course, as with damn near anything, I could be wrong.
You hate to see it.

I think both sides have different strategies. Putin needs territory to show off as a victory no matter how strategically meaningless. Ukraine’s strategy is attrition and making them pay for every inch with death and blood. Also there was some Russian propaganda going around about that encirclement but Ukraine was saying their guys got out before.
Turkey has lifted its objection to Sweden and Finland joining NATO.
Upon hearing the news, Putin threw his bowl of borscht at the wall.
Reading an article about it and it says this…
Both Finland and Sweden already meet many of the requirements to be NATO members. Some of the requirements include having a functioning democratic political system, a willingness to provide economic transparency and the ability to make military contributions to NATO missions.
So how long before we get kicked out?
“Yeah well we were leaving your dumb island anyways because we’re nice guys.”
Fight smarter not harder.
(not that they’re not fighting hard, but they’re doing it without throwing troops at problems).
Quite satisfying.
