I see the leader of an international child rape ring has weighed in. I will give that opinion it’s due.
Before this war I had not fully appreciated the degree of chauvinism with which the Russians view the Ukrainians. I understand that in Russian literary circles the Ukrainian word for “writer” is used as slang for “hack”. It seems Putin, and a lot of Russia, view Ukrainians with the same disdain that Hitler viewed all Slavs.
I had also not fully appreciated the difference in national character between Russians and Ukrainians. Russians are culturally conditioned to accept authority without question, or at least without objection. Autocracy is their default condition. Ukrainians, on the other hand, are Cossacks. They even say so in their national anthem. Cossacks are the antithesis of an autocratic society. They were (are) a multi-lingual, multi-religious, and multi-ethnic people who were, and were descended from those that would not be serfs. They bowed to no authority but their own.

A well equipped Ukrainian military will never quit, and will grind the Russians into dust. At some point, this may change from Ukraine’s existence being on the line, to Russia’s existence being on the line.
Also, Putin may or may not have stomach cancer. Hopefully, he will die in the most painful and humiliating way possible.

Well, Putin’s big ass speech has come and gone and there was no declaration of war and so no general mobilization. My prognostication abilities have once again proven their worth.
In fact, from what I can gather, it was pretty weak tea all around. On a beautiful sunny day the big military flyover was cancelled due to weather.
