Which is insanity. There were countless Jedi before any Skywalker and will be countless afterwards.
…and Anakin was the first Skywalker Jedi, who then set about trying to kill all the other Jedi.
That was just bringing balance to the Force.
Anakin, after bringing balance to the Force:
Good for her.
Finally getting around to watching Star Trek Strange New Worlds. Thru the first two episodes. It’s pretty good. I like the Pike character. I continue to be amazed with the production quality and SX of serialized TV these days.
Strange New Worlds hasn’t whiffed yet. I love this show and am sad that it only has three more episodes this season.
For All Mankind S3 is throwing some haymakers out of the gate.
Also finally caught up on S3 of The Orville so far. This show was at its best when it was “Star Trek, but with its collar undone after a couple of beers”. But now in S3 it’s treating itself as a serious sci-fi show and it’s… not good.
Surely a Seth McFarlane property wouldn’t wear out its welcome.
I did wonder what the partial reboot of The Orville was about. It’s definitely lost the humor edge it had which, I agree, is sad because now it pales in comparison to SNW for the quality of its production, writing and acting.
If anything, with SNW in direct competition, The Orville needed to go the other way. Except then it starts to drift into punching distance of Lower Decks, which is more Trekky, funnier and more edgy. (I still can’t get over the fact that they made a joke about the holodeck filters being 85% jizz).
There was a corner of the internet that believed The Orville was better Star Trek than Disco and Picard. Makes me think that the Orville producers believed their own press clippings a little too much.
Finally started For All Mankind last night after seeing y’all talk about it for so long. Really enjoyed the first three episodes. I know that’s just the very tip of the iceberg story-wise but it’s got me intrigued to see where things go as it moves forward in time.
Is anybody going to talk about season three of The Boys and the elephant in the room that is episode 1?
Currently unable to access Prime so I’m shut out of The Boys. However, Umbrella Academy 3 is completely batshit as usual.
I feel like they’re competing to one up each other.
I binged For All Mankind this week and I’m all caught up. Season one: great. Season two: fine, but not enough astronauting. Season three: why is Danny Stevens in this show? What is the point of this terrible character?
S2 of FAM was one of the great seasons of TV in history.
Is Danny Stevens the main guy? My wife and I have labored through the first two episodes of the first season and that’s it. I want to like it but it’s hard to force myself to watch a show.
He’s the now grown up son of Gordo and Tracy Stevens. So far in S3 he is kind of a whiny bitch with a splash of heroism thrown in. He’s one of the featured characters now as he’s in the main plot line. There are some sub-plots involving him that explain a lot of his portrayal, but I won’t go into as it would be very spoilery for S2.
One of Gordo and Tracy Stevens’s sons. Is basically a non-entity in S1 but gets more screen time in S2 and S3.
FWIW, For All Mankind has a lot of DNA from Star Trek DS9 and the Battlestar Galactica reboot. I know you didn’t like DS9, not sure about BSG. This may not be the show for you.
