Non sequitur: I discovered last night that you can purchase a bottle of wine at the Hobby Center bar and take what you don’t drink at the bar to your seat. I’m not sure how I didn’t know that, but it was a highlight of the evening.

I’m right there with you. It felt like a three-hour educational special, like an updated School House Rock. I just don’t get it.

I liked the historical part, I just didn’t care for the music. Which is kind of a big deal for a musical.

We saw South Pacific there a few weeks ago. The bottle of wine was the highlight of that one too.
I agree with MM that Hamilton really benefits from having a thorough knowledge of the lyrics before viewing.
And to be transparent, it was the second bottle we took to our seats.

I’ve probably mentioned this over the years, but I despise drinking from a straw. Anything. So no. But we got large plastic cups.
No, it wasn’t a whole bottle of rum. That may have helped.

I just saw next year’s TUTS lineup and WOOOOOOOOF it’s bad.
I agree about straws and disagree about Hamilton. I wonder if you’d have felt differently had you seen the version with the original cast produced for Disney, which is the only way I’ve seen it.

I thought it included Mary Poppins, Waitress, 9 to 5 and Rent? Those are all great shows.
I haven’t seen 9 to 5 but question how good it is. Mary Poppins is fine, Waitress is the best of the bunch, and Rent is on my all-time overrated list. It’s aged worse than a bottle of Three Buck Chuck.
Wait until somebody does a season of different interpretations of “Love Never Dies”.

I like rap and I like musicals. I think Hamilton is overrated. And it sucks as a sci-fi TV show.
