S3 of Lost in Space drops tomorrow. Molly Parker…I’ll be in my bunk.

Also, Netflix is adding Knight Rider. Loved that show!

The third episode of Hawkeye has one of the best chase scenes ever.

I’m sure I’ll get bored with the “one take” action sequence at some point, but I’m nowhere near there yet. I marvel (pun intended) at the technical skills - blocking, sequencing, choreography, editing etc. - to pull off a scene like that.

One of the originals, and still one of the best, is the stairwell fight from Daredevil S2.

If you want to know why he has a gun duct taped to one hand and a chain to the other, you’re just going to have to watch the show.

Lost in Space S3 is, so far, very good. I’m glad I went back and watched the last episode of S2 in advance of this because (a) I had too many tissues around the place anyway and (2) they did a very clever thing to connect the two seasons while dealing with the fact that the actors all got a lot older looking between seasons.

I’d recommend doing this, and don’t even attempt to jump in on S3. In fact, there are major plot arteries that stem from S1 E1, so you really have to watch all or nothing.

Meanwhile, I’d forgotten about how much this show likes to ramp up the stakes by piling problem on top of problem at the most inopportune times. It’s like if “The Martian” had been written by a psychotic crackhead.

You read it upside down if you have a digital watch. I’m 99% analog, baby!

Ambigram is a new one to me! That’s great.

As far as page-turning fast-food fiction goes, they’re perfectly fine. I actually received a special edition TDC as a Christmas gift one year. It included full-color pics of all of the art and architecture and such, which heightened its enjoyment. I have zero plans, however, to read any further paint-by-numbers Dan Brown books.

Last Symbol was bad and they’ve gotten exponentially worse

Years back I was telling a co-worker at lunch one day about a book I had read some years before, The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. After I described the plot. He says, “You HAVE to read The Da Vinci Code, it’s fucking GREAT!”

Boy was I let down, I never trusted that guy’s recommendations for anything again. I have only myself to blame for later reading Angels and Demons.

I went to high school with this dude that I liked fine enough. He was a real oddball, but y’all without sin cast the first stone and all that. Anyway, years and years later I spotted him working in the Borders bookstore that used to be across from the Whole Foods on Alabama and Kirby. To my horror he recognized me and came over to chat. In the course of things he elected to give me an unsolicited recommendation, which was the Da Vinci Code. Which, sadly, I had already read and knew to be garbage.

I remember The Name of the Rose having a sort of inauspicious start but I quickly got into it and ended up liking it a lot.

Yikes! Something in my brain made me type the Name of the Rose but I was thinking and should have typed, Folcault’s Pendulum. I didn’t even notice until I read chuck’s response.

Check out Holy Blood, Holy Grail. It’s a history book (many would call a conspiracy theory) where I’m sure Dan Brown got idea for Da Vinci Code from. And the Name of the Rose was awesome; the book and movie. Foucault’s Pendulum just melted my brain.
