Great movie, and the score absolutely bangs.
Everything about that movie was beautiful. The art direction, the cinematography, and that amazing score.
…Madeleine Stowe…

And Madeleine Stowe.
Jared Harris makes everything he’s in better…exception above noted.
I met Madeleine Stowe once. Summer Camp my brother and I worked at in college was in the Malibu area and we used to take some of the campers to Zuma Beach every day. She was there with her husband Brian Benben (of HBO’s Dream On fame) and their children. Several of the counselors got to talking with them and I can say she’s even more beautiful and gracious in person. She was also a bit surprised/amused that my favorite movie of hers was LOTM.

Certainly less awkward than saying it was China Lake.
Because she was in China Moon?
ETA: She was outstanding in Revenge.
That’s the one. The post Basic Instinct “erotic thriller” wave
There are a lot of pretty women and “hot chicks” in Hollywood, but for my money Stowe as Cora Munro in LOTM is up there in the Top 5 Drop Dead Gorgeous Women Ever on Film.
“What are you looking at, sir?”
“I’m looking at you, miss.”
A fair argument - I would have to include Elizabeth Taylor (Cleopatra) and Nicole Kidman (Far and Away) at a minimum.
Munro was her character’s name in China Moon also.

Brian Benben (of HBO’s Dream On fame)
I’ve always assumed he was more famous for the filmed-in-Houston Dolph Lundgren classic “I Come In Peace”
Madeline Stowe and Rene Russo was a coin flip for me back then.
Team Russo all the way
I liked Madeleine Stowe in The Two Jakes. When Jake (Jack Nicholson) says to her character, “I’m trying to be a gentleman here. Now, get on your knees, put your ass in the air, and don’t move until I say to.”
Ruso is a very beautiful woman but just a little angular feature wise. Stowe is more of a classic beauty. But you know, to each his own.
I’ve been in my bunk. What did I miss?
She was a striking woman. Not classically beautiful but… striking.
