The sci-fi TV thread

They seem to be operating under the impression that they can have an anthology of episodes with “the debris” doing something, and them solving it.

Spoiler

Last night they just “shut it down” to save the day. How? What was the debris’ goal? Why do different bits of debris do different things? It’s frustrating already, and I’m with you on giving it one more week.

Just started Leviathan Wakes yesterday. I’m going to try and knock out the books before the final Expanse season starts in December. I similarly read all five Fire and Ice books between S1 and S2 of GOT, and while these aren’t quite as long my Kindle reader showed 19+ hours to complete and I’m already stressing about finishing it within a 3-week library loan.

Meanwhile…:nerd_face::nerd_face::nerd_face:

These are long books, but easier reads than ASOIAF. On book 7 now.

You’ve leapfrogged me. I’ve had a hard time staying interested in book 6.

Well there’s no boiled leather and armor in space to describe in depth, and with limited food options Corey can’t spend 5 pages every chapter going into every minute detail on the latest feast.

I am reading 7 right now, too. I am very interested to see how they (both Holden and the rest of humanity in general) get out of their predicament.

I have trouble remembering what happens in which book. The fact that the book titles seem to have absolutely nothing directly to do with the plot or characters frustrates the literalist in me.

The jump in book 6 took a while to get used to. I’m saving book 7 for when right before the final book is released this summer so I can at least pretend to end with conscious continuity.

I bailed at the first commercial break.

Book 7 was the one with the time jump

Ah shit. I guess I read it already. Can’t keep those books straight at all.

I read it in the future. That’s the value of time jumps.

It’s a quantum leap in reading.

Oh boy.

Just finished WandaVision.

Spoilers

So it was a post-origin story of how Wanda finally becomes the Scarlet Witch. Along the way, they created Vision the White and took a huge, steaming dump on Agents of SHIELD.

I mean, it’s basically Season 4 of AoS - including a fake world where people in it have to sacrifice the fake people they’ve come to love - all made possible by the Darkhold.

I really liked AoS - it’s well worth a marathon start-to-finish binge as it holds up very well - but it’s clear from this that there are no plans to connect the movie universe to the previous TV shows, presuming this is the fate of the Netflix shows too.

Kevin Feige has stated that the ABC shows (AoS and Agent Carter) are not canon.

That’s sad. It’s also weird considering he included James D’Arcy as Jarvis in Endgame when, if Agent Carter isn’t canon, it should’ve been Paul Bettany.

As an aside, only after watching Spider-Man: Far from Home did I realize that the voice of the suit is Jennifer Connelly, who is married to Paul Bettany.

Even thought Feige said it wasn’t canon, it might have been confusing to people who had watched Agent Carter. A lot of unnecessary explanations and all. Plus it was very short, and Bettany was fine with it as (my understanding) he was told about WandaVision at that point.

Oh yeah, the full cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi was announced today:

Filming begins in April. Takes place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith. I think the only known characters are Kenobi, Vader, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru (Edgerton and Piesse from the prequels).
