The sci-fi TV thread

Nope, but it’s not hard to see titties - even 1980s vintage Jamie Lee Curtis titties - on this thing called the interweb. And if the man-ass is tastefully done in furtherance of the plot…

So Ted Lasso = tastefully done man-ass. Can’t wait to check it out

It was certainly 2020…

Finally a sensical tag line!

Not to interrupt the man-ass discussion, and Ted Lasso is a terrific show, but The Expanse… I have no idea what to expect from next week’s season finale but I’m pumped for it.

Damn, I forgot that a new episode dropped yesterday.

We watched season 1.

It’s worth continuing, I gather?

I think so. I find it helpful to have read the books, but that may just be me.

I never read the books (may do so this year) but yeah, worth watching for sure, IMO.

I know several people who haven’t read the books but really enjoy the series.

Also, Dominique Tipper is a tour de force this season.

I just finished the books and I’m looking to sell. I loved them. I’m willing to let them go for half what I paid, if any of you are interested.

I know that isn’t what this site is for and I’m happy to delete. Sorry if this is annoying and/or against the rules.

I listened to the books on Audible a while ago, then forgot them, then started the series and got about three seasons in but was hopelessly confused, then re-listened to some of the books, then started the series over, then got worn out and started watching something else. In a year or so I’ll have forgotten that I ever watched any of it and will start it all again.

I’ve fallen asleep during the show several times. The show isn’t bad; I just generally fall asleep to TV/movies. I thought the books were better than average. I don’t read a ton of sci-fi, so I don’t have all that much to compare it against, but I was disappointed when I realized I’m going to have to wait for book 9. If you like A Song of Ice and Fire, and you’re into somewhat realistic sci-fi, you’ll love the book series.

An upvote from me for The Expanse. I saw the first 3 seasons on Syfy and enjoyed it quite a bit. Haven’t got around to watching subsequent seasons yet but only because i only recently got Prime. And no i didn’t read the books.

I’m not a very intense tv watcher most of the time.

I haven’t watched, but judging by book timeframe, I’m guessing this is Naomi?

Yes.

I read the first four or five books before picking up the TV series and my immediate reaction to the first season was “who the hell is this Miller guy and when are they going to get to the real plot?”

This is fucking awesome!

I’m sure that’s one of those things where you feel completely silly doing it on set but then it actually looks decent on camera.
