Worth two hours, but overall it was a bit meh for me.
Zero hyperbole here… “a bit meh” is the most positive comment I have seen about Rebel Moon.
The general consensus I’ve seen is, “Star Wars, but boring”
…and almost all in sloowwwwww motion.
It had the potential to be something interesting. But then… that didn’t happen.
Title of Zack Snyder’s sex tape
2/3 of the movie was the Rick and Morty “You son of a bitch, I’m in” meme…the other 1/3 was arguments about grain.
Woo!
Not sure if I’m totally sold on 3 Body Problem but it’s held my interest through five episodes. The cast is good and there was a pretty interesting set piece in the last episode.
I’ve had a slight obsession with this series the past eight months: read all three books over a two-week period in August, re-read the second and third books in November, and then binged the 30 episodes first season of the Chinese series around Christmas.
The Netflix series has its pros and cons, but overall I felt satisfied. My main gripe concerns the pacing - they essentially wrap up the first book by the end of Ep 5, and some of the payoffs lack the needed build-up.
No issues with the choice to “westernize” a mostly Chinese story, or to introduce characters in the first season that don’t appear until later in the book series, and I think that, even rushed as it was, D&D hit the high points.
The latter two books involve so much insanity that I have no idea how they’ll adapt to the screen, but I truly hope Netflix allows them to try.
“Equilibrium,” movie, 'wow" compared with expectations going in. Gun-kata rocked.
The “Attack on Titan” live-action movie is incredibly good.
The final season of Star Trek: Disco starts today…
My expectations could not be lower.
Yet I will watch.
I just hope they do away with all the whispering. I can’t hear half the dialog on the show.
In the words of Det. Jake Peralta: “Title of your sex tape!”
I will select “Play” for S5 E1 the same way I select “On” for a switch I’ve just re-wired.
David Caruso [puts on sunglasses].
Leobin is still a dick.
