It doesn’t matter if it was a camera in centerfield or a guy in the outfield bleachers using binoculars, none of that matters. What matters is they were using the dugout phone.
They were just calling it like they saw it…
I knew it would happen. I tried to prepare myself. The mental gymnastics on display today is very very funny to me.
We lost an entire draft due to incurred penalties, and the blow to the integrity of the franchise is seemingly permanent
It’s highlighting the 2017 World Series Champion Houston Astros!
That’s all that really matters.
The way Manfred has protected everyone in this that isn’t the Houston Astros is the modern Black Sox scandal.
So I really don’t give a rat’s ass what anyone else thinks of the Houston Astros. They can suck it. And the Yankees can polish their integrity with their diapers soaked in envious green baby shit. I mean it.
I do care what people think and say about the Astros. I cannot stop the defamation or even affect it, but I care.
If I thought there was any sincerity in it, I might. But there’s not. So they can get bent.
It is amusing to see “journalists” like Onley and Passan shrug their shoulders no big deal style.
Passan actually called the letter a “nothing burger”.
Never been to J school, but I’m guessing ‘take everything at face value’ isn’t a tenet of good journalism.
Hunter S Thompson was a journalist. George Plimpton was a journalist. Olny, Passan, that that ilk are sports writers. Like Thompson and Plimpton, journalism is dead. One must temper expectations.
Of course, not. When I was earning my Bachelor’s of Journalism from UT-Austin between 2001-2005, we were taught to be the watchdog of the government and to cover stories fairly and objectively. That has gone out the window for the most part, and I’m disgusted by it.
obelix i believe, but may be wrong. College sweetheart and i get together occassionally to visit historic sites, She is a kids library directer. Got me one of the books haven’t read. The won who fell into the vat as a baby, so he could never take the potion.
Is that what they call it these days?
Some sites more historic than others.
And sometimes history repeats.
I care too. And I’m sure that the average fan believes the Astros are the lone cheater because that’s the way Manfred set this up. And that’s all they need to know.
