This tape has remained confidential until four days after the evidence was turned over to Trump’s legal team. There haven’t been any leaks until now.

Right, conclusive evidence is a tape. Because tapes can clearly show that there were classified documents vs newspapers and magazine articles. With tapes, you can close your eyes and see what is going on inside of the room. That’s what CNN wants you to do because that is basically how their news works; close your eyes and imagine how you want things to turn out.
There was some speculation last night that the Trump team may have leaked the tape in order to inure potential jurors to its shock value. I’m not sure why, after all this time, there is an assumption of some - any - intelligence at work in the actions of Trump and his clown car of dick-stepping legal hacks. The stupidest explanation is almost always the right one.
One of them fat-fingered their phone and emailed it to their entire address book (see Jones, Alex).

You’re the one that claims a few minutes of video edited by Tucker Carlson outweighs all the video, all the testimony, all the documentation, and all other actual evidence presented in multiple courts resulting in multiple convictions for something you claim never happened.
Trump, by the way, doesn’t claim the audio is false, he claims it exonerates. You worship an idiot.

One of the great ironies in our Age of Irony is that Trump can’t capitalize or even acknowledge his administration’s greatest accomplishment: the Moderna COVID 19 vaccine.
I was beyond skeptical when Jared funneled money to Moderna, a company that had yet to produce any vaccine. While Pfizer did not receive Federal funds for their mRNA vaccine, Moderna did. I did not expect Moderna to produce an effective vaccine ever, let alone concurrent with Pfizer, but they did. I’ve had four shots of their vaccine.
Trump can’t use it to campaign because according to him “Republicans don’t like vaccines now”. It’s probably because they’re such critical thinkers.

All he had to do was say “wear a mask and wait for the vaccines that I have just fast-tracked”, and he would have been re-elected in a landslide.

If we are talking about Carlson’s video on the January 6th fiasco, that actually shows Capitol Police opening doors. You can watch the video and see it with your own eyes.
So, does an audio tape recording show what is in front of Trump and what he is discussing with others? Can you tell it isn’t newspapers or magazines? Can you see that the document is classified by listening? I don’t expect a response from anyone and that’s fine. I’ll answer those questions for everyone. No, you can’t see anything from an audio recording.
And by the way, you voted for and worship a demented, child molesting criminal.
I think about this fairly often, in part because it is completely true. It’s amazing how these baseline demonstrations of leadership and governance are completely out of his reach. Of course I’m aware that neither he nor any other Republican has any interest in governance, but still, you’d think he could take his eye off the grift for half an hour and do something like this from time to time. But at the end of the day, governing involves doing things that benefit others, which of course is completely, totally alien to his nature. I guess Jared and Ivanka couldn’t figure out how to make money selling N95s.

Trump’s playbook is just to get past the moment. He resets instantly thereafter, assuming that everyone else does. “I know I killed Grandma, but that was yesterday.”
Any politician with half a brain would’ve done regular press conferences updating the progress of the vaccines, and banking all that goodwill for the coming election. Even a greasy, odious sex pest like Andrew fucking Cuomo was able to make himself look like he was the love child of Walter Cronkite and FDR, and he was stuffing virulent COVID patients into nursing homes.
Trump’s ability to make the wrong choice at every decision point is quite astounding.

It amazes me that there are people that worked in his White House who apparently are still fully on board. Just like it amazes me that quite a number of today’s candidates appear to be running to be his Vice President. I guess they reflexively know what I have trouble processing, which is that the vast majority of the morons in this country who are persuadable by his brand of hate and fear are still completely bought in.
