Harris gave a barn burner of a speech in PA today. At a rally that included wide array of her pro-democracy coalition, including 100+ Republicans, she called Trump a fascist and called for Americans to vote for the continuation of the American experiment and not for a dictator who would unleash the military on his perceived enemies.
She is closing the campaign like a fucking freight train while Trump is zombie-dancing to YMCA for 40 minutes. I am hopeful that she can collect enough of the swing states by enough of a margin as to make any shenanigans moot.
Every reputable academic and political science researcher (read: not a media pollster or internet expert) is suggesting that this is just not a possibility. What they are saying is that it’ll be close and that the ensuing drama is predictable.
My most trustworthy source over the last 3 elections has been Dr. Doug Rivers from Stanford.
Here’s some of his thoughts from a few weeks ago:
And, a description of the scientific rigor he uses:
I was in a group setting/convo with him last night. He suggests it’s still too close to call and that Trump will likely pull 1.5 to 2 points above the most reliable current polling. Before anyone declares winners and losers, they should probably do some reading outside of media and internet channels to be best informed with the least intrinsic bias.
Trump just got caught trying to buy the silence of Stormy Daniel’s again. No really.
She settled the judgement she owes him for previous litigation, and Trump’s lawyers offered a discount if she would sign an NDA never to talk about Trump again.
It didn’t happen so there was no opportunity for him to commit business fraud by laundering the payment through the Trump Org. But it may well have been an attempt at election fraud.
Sure she did. She tossed a nice big word salad for a crowd of mouth breathing, mask wearing zombies. Harris is nearly as incompetent as her boss, dementia Joe. Make she will follow him if Joe wanders off.
Yesterday, Trump did the softest of softball interviews on Fox - a town hall where the audience was comprised entirely of pre-screened Trump supporters - and still managed to fuck up a bunch of answers such that Fox had to edit his answers to remove the truly offensive stuff (“the enemy within” etc.) and had to edit the questions to take out all the gushing for Trump from the questioners.
Last night he did a town hall on Univision - like Harris did previously - and shit all the beds.
Meanwhile, Harris gave an imperious speech in Washington Crossing, PA where she was joined by over 100 notable Republicans who are endorsing her candidacy. Later, she did an interview on Fox News where she beat a shoe off Bret Baier, who tried every dirty trick in the book. He even played one of the edited clips from Trump’s Fox hit earlier in the day, and she nailed him for it.
Baier tried to bait her into a “deplorables” type gaff, but she turned it around and rubbed Trump’s nose in that shit. She pointed out that running for president is supposed to be hard (although she missed a big opportunity to say that “it’s the hard that makes it great”) and that the president has to be able to accept disagreement without threatening to lock people up.
The questioner said he used to be a registered Republican and was giving Trump the chance to win back his vote. Just look at the faces in the audience as Trump 's speaking, and then the head roll from the questioner when Trump calls Jan 6 a “day of love”.
Last week, Judge Chutkan gave Team Trump 7 days to come up with a reason, any reason, why she should not allow Jack Smith to file the redacted appendices to his Jan 6th evidentiary brief. Today is the 7th day, and Team Trump filed a motion with the court to…delay the release until Nov 14. No reason given; just “coz”.
If anyone wants a summary of Kamala’s interview with Bret Baier, here it is: Deny responsibility for anything bad and blame anything bad on Trump. After that, end the interview early and storm out in a huff.
I don’t know about you but any time I go to a nice, peaceful love-in I always take a large canister of bear spray and I wear a military helmet with a face shield and a breathing apparatus. Better safe than sorry is what I always say. You just never know when there will be so much love crackling through the air that people start getting overly excited.
