In September 2018, as allegations of sexual misconduct against Brett M. Kavanaugh threatened his confirmation to the Supreme Court, President Donald Trump vowed that the FBI would have “free rein” to vet the claims. Trump said the FBI was “talking to everybody” and added on social media: “I want them to interview whoever they deem appropriate, at their discretion.”
The president’s comments came as a surprise to the FBI, according to a new report from a Democratic senator based on previously undisclosed correspondence between the agency and the White House. FBI officials — directed to conduct a very limited inquiry in a week’s time — requested “additional guidance” from the White House, citing the public remarks by Trump and other officials describing a freewheeling investigation. But the White House never authorized the agency to independently probe the sexual misconduct allegations, which Kavanaugh staunchly denied.
It’s going to be studied by political scientists forever how Trump slides by what would be career-ending scandals for anyone else on a daily basis.
Just this week we found out that Trump has called Putin on 7 occasions - that we know of - since losing in 2020. Experience tells us that, if we know of 7, the actual number is an eye-watering multiple of that.
We also found out that, in 2020, Trump secretly sent Putin COVID testing equipment for his personal use. Not the CVS brain-tickler testing kits that we all got to enjoy once he was kicked out of office, but the rare and expensive testing machines that everyone was desperate to have early in the pandemic.

If there is an October surprise this year, it will be that there is a revelation about Trump that lets some air out of his support. I can’t imagine what such a thing could be because we already know so much horrific stuff, none of which has had an effect.
The silver lining here is that, while his support stubbornly will not go down, it also has a similarly immovable ceiling. His number is fixed; Harris’ job is to motive voters to show up and overwhelm his cult followers at the polls.

PA’s 10th district is deep in “Pennsyltucky” and was won by Trump in 2020 by 4 points. New polling out has Harris ahead in that district +5, a 9-point swing away from Trump.
If Trump isn’t winning in rural Pennsylvania, he isn’t winning.

After Biden/Harris’s terrible response to the hurricane aftermath, she is going to lose a lot of votes nationally. $750 isn’t going to amount to much to victims. Yet we send billions to Ukraine. Yet we give millions to illegal immigrants. We have plenty of money for things like that, just not for our own people. The US citizens who have an ability to think see this and realize that this is what you get when you vote Democrat.
