George Santos is being arraigned this morning. Thereās a good chance that weāll find out where he āfoundā $700,000 to lend his own campaign.
Iām not sure whoās sweating more about that: Santos or McCarthy.

Charges against Santos:
- 7 counts of wire fraud
- 3 counts of money laundering
- 1 count theft of public funds
- 2 counts of making materially false statements
Quite a fall from grace for one of historyās greatest philosophers.
ETA: Thereās three criminal schemes alleged here:
- He solicited political campaign contributions which he then funneled straight into his personal accounts.
- He claimed unemployment benefit while employed and running for Congress.
- He lied on his financial disclosure form to Congress.
Nothing here about the $700,000 - other than to say that thereās no way he had that kind of money - but that doesnāt mean that the issue is dead. Often the Feds will charge the low-hanging crimes, and use that investigation to give his finances a full colonoscopy.
As an aside, the above crimes are amateurish at best. The campaign funds he took were simply wired from the campaign accounts into his personal account, after which he spent the money on himself. Calling it ālaunderingā is giving it far too much credit.

You had a sitting President of the United States attempt a coup, and Republicans not only did nothing, but they also applauded him. Now you have a sitting United State Supreme Court Justice on the take. What makes you think Republicans will do anything but applaud him as well?

Oh, they wonāt do anything. And Thomas wonāt stand down because they are shameless. However, some of this activity is illegal as well as unethical, so the DOJ could open an investigation and then who knows what shakes out of the tree.
We are seeing with what is happening to Trump that they are only mostly bullet proof, not entirely bullet proof. Jack Smith will need something to do once heās done with Trumpā¦

You donāt actually have any facts to that point. Youāve got some circumstantial evidence. And the other thing is, of all those names, the one person who didnāt profit ā thereās no evidence that Joe Biden did anything illegally.
Meanwhile, Comer has some issues of his own to deal with.
The one purpose of Comerās āinvestigationā is to get the wackadoodles incensed. I skimmed the āreportā and thereās nothing there. It shows no criminal activity at all and Joe never profited from any of it.
Comerās committee is political theater, nothing else.
