The Inevitable What About The Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread Thread

You’re so unhip it’s a wonder your legs don’t fall off.

You’re so unhip you probably don’t get the above reference.

Shouldn’t you be delightfully unhip?

Exactly. I’m not sure the expense of the investigation matches the seriousness of the crimes, but crimes they appear to be and so I have no problem with prosecutions being brought. Having said that, it does smack of going after Bill Clinton for murder(s) and corrupt land deals, and getting him for lying about a blow job.

It’s such a split screen that they’re getting Hunter Biden - who never served a day in a government position - for late payment of taxes and gun infractions, while the Kushners - who were both paid federal employees in their father’s administration - appear to be walking free.

They reported their earnings as $640 million during the time they were full-time public servants. Key word being reported. Then, of course, there is Jared’s infamous $2 billion investment fund - handed to him as he was walking out of the White House with his box of personal effects - from which he draws a management fee of $25 million. Annually.

I support enforcement of laws.

If Hunter Biden did these things then he needs to pay the price.

That said, if he was Hunter Schmo, son of Joe Schmo we would not even know about it and chances are he would not even be facing a trial now.

Well, a quick glance at Wikipedia shows these two things aren’t apples to apples. This guy was accused of rape, plead to the lesser offense of assault and battery, and was on probation at the time of his lying on his gun purchase.

Hunter was in trouble for drug possession or something, a non-violent offense. I doubt this nuance can be contemplated by most.

Explains why Trump would want to pardon him.

I don’t understand this logic: he should be treated differently than everyone else in his position? He is officially “below the law”?

Everyone should recognize this shit for what it is. I bet the jury will.

It’s still entirely possible/likely that he will plead guilty. The issue will then be just sentencing.

What’s appropriate for someone who was late on their taxes - but caught up on payments prior to charges being brought - and a first-time, non-violent gun offense (basically lying on some paperwork, which I believe the right typically excuses as a “process” crime)?

Fun Fact: The FBI had to create a special division to look into all the death threats that came flooding in to their offices and agents when it was revealed that Hunter wasn’t going to be thrown into an oubliette. The FBI. Think about that.

So in Sumatra I worked with this fellow from Newfoundland, and Newfies are, by and large, incredibly wonderful human beings, but also goofy beyond description. At any rate, he was a huge fan of The Tragically Hip and forced me to listen to them nonstop whenever he’d invite me over to pick some tunes and drink gin and tonics. Sometimes when I’m just driving alone out on the highway I swear I hear “Last American Exit” ringing in my ears.

I went to Newfoundland once.

Once!

My favorite thing about that band is that is was fronted by a guy with the most Canadian name possible.

You know you’re a Canadian band when two members are named “Gord”.

Hilarious that some of you think poor little Hunter is being targeted. Democrats are such hypocrites.

This pretty much sums it up.

At the same time, there does not appear to be any interest in looking into the Kushner-Saudi deals that stink on ice. :man_shrugging:

All the while Democrats are trying to get President Trump out of the election picture by targeting him in phony indictments (ordered by Joe Biden) because they know they can’t beat him fairly in an election.

Death, Taxes, and D.WARD spreading unsubstantiated rumors about some Democrat.

I have no idea who this lady is or why she chose Navarro as a hill to die on, but I support her hilarious efforts to annoy this clown.

Hilarious that you all think Hunter should get a pass and that Trump is guilty. Hypocrites of the highest order.

Incredible you think Trump should get a pass and Hunter held accountable. Hypocrite of the highest order. I think they should both be held accountable. I will definitely not be voting for Hunter.

Is your reading comprehension out of whack too?

Every single comment on here about Hunter says that he should be tried and must be accountable.

Show me ONE comment from any of us that says Hunter “should get a pass” much less all of us.
