I was a union guy. They had this thing called “expectations” and you would be judged by expectations met or not. There was no extra benefit at all for exceeding expectations, no extra pay or time off. I would work my ass off to meet those expectation in about 2/3 of the time they allotted, allowing me to take FO time the last third of the day. I would spend some of my FO time online reading what most of you fuckers seemed to be able to post all day when working.

Meadows got caught lying during his testimony in the hearing for his removal motion earlier this week. Meadows testified that he had absolutely no involvement in the fake electors plot; Willis produced emails between Eastman, Chesebro and Meadows basically “re: Fake Electors Plot”.
Fani Willis has advised the court of such (with receipts), stating that this means: (a) Meadows failed to meet the standard for removal, and (ii) you cannot trust anything that came out of that lying liar’s north.
While this is all fun, the best part is that, in this mostly pointless removal hearing, Meadows has destroyed any ability he had to testify on his own behalf in the actual trial. Willis has him dead to rights on perjury under oath, which is a stick she can use to beat him with if he ever takes the stand again.
Why does this matter? Because, in a case like this, Willis is going to present evidence and testimony that Meadows did this or said that, and his only defense - just like Trump and all the others - is to take the stand and provide contrary testimony. It’s the same reason why he had to testify in his motion hearing in the first place. Now his credibility as a witness is gone, and with it went his ability to mount a defense.
Speaking of which, Trump’s deposition in Leticia James’ NY civil suit for fraud was released this week. Trump did so well in it - including explaining how lucky we were to have him as President because he prevented the nuclear destruction of the planet (I’m not kidding) - that James moved for summary judgement against him in a significant part of the case.

All this Burisma stuff pre-dates Joe Biden’s presidency. It has been under investigation by a Trump-appointed US Attorney, who was tasked with the case by a Trump-appointed Attorney General. That case is still working it’s way through, and the investigator’s status has been upgraded recently to “Special Prosecutor”, something for which the right wing has been clamoring.
As soon as any of those Trump folks present evidence against Joe Biden in court - shit, even on Fox News - then we can talk about it. That day is unlikely to come, as even GOP House Reps admit that they’ve got nuthin’.

No. In criminal cases, the defendant generally exercises their right to not testify. Usually only bad things happen to the defendant when they take the stand.
