The Inevitable What About The Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread Thread

In catching up on the thread, I was waiting for this. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that he would have not picked up on what your career path has been or what your job is, and how fortunate we all are to benefit from the insight you provide, but it also fits neatly into the “deep state” panic that has these weirdos obsessing over any federal employee.

DWard I took an oath to uphold the constitution and I served my country. And I actually know what those things mean!

in the New York Times Magazine today there is an article that contains an interview with Daniel C. Dennett, a professor emeritus at Tufts University, author, and noted philosopher. He has a new book out called “Breaking the Spell.”

There’s a section in your book “Breaking the Spell” where you lament the postmodern idea that truth is relative. How do we decide which truths we should treat as objective and which we treat as subjective? I’m thinking of an area like personal identity, for example, where we hear phrases like, “This is my truth.”

The idea of “my truth” is second-rate. The people who think that because this is their opinion, somehow it’s aggressive for others to criticize or reject them — that’s a self-defeating and pernicious attitude. The recommended response is: “We’d like to bring you into the conversation, but if you’re unable to consider arguments for and against your position, then we’ll consider you on the sidelines. You’re a spectator, not a participant.” You don’t get to play the faith card. That’s not how rational inquiry goes.

Go Jumbos!

I certainly didn’t say that they set the price. However, they can damn sure take actions that effect it, though.

Take a look at everything Biden has done to hurt the oil industry. Here is an article that shows some of the actions he took.

To be quite honest, I didn’t read through them. You and I both know Biden is nothing more than a puppet. He will sign whatever someone else (Obama) comes up with.

If you served the country in the military, thank you for your service.

It’s a “don’t lose money on my 401K” strategy. Go back and read the article I posted regarding 401K’s.

That’s not how I served.

How did you serve?

Well sure, but what does Josiah P Fucknut, an attorney in Joplin, MO, think about all this?

Current gasoline prices being so high is due to unplanned refinery outages.

Here’s an article from the EIA dated Aug. 23 that explains it: This Week in Petroleum - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

From the article:

Refinery outages amid lower capacity increase U.S. gasoline crack spreads

Unplanned refinery outages and lower gasoline production capacity are increasing the costs of producing summer-grade gasoline in the United States this summer, resulting in both higher U.S. crack spreads and retail gasoline prices. The difference between petroleum product prices and crude oil prices, is an indicator of underlying trends in refining, and it usually makes up about 25% of the retail gasoline price. This summer, U.S. gasoline crack spreads had remained less than those of last summer, up until the final weeks of July and into August (Figure 1). Although U.S. gasoline consumption has increased from last summer and inventories remain near five-year lows, recent developments in U.S. refining activity are primarily driving crack spreads this summer.

Both retail gasoline prices and crack spreads are higher in the summer than in other seasons because of higher consumption and because of higher production costs for summer-grade gasoline than for winter-grade gasoline. Motor gasoline is a combination of different components—such as [reformate, and aromatics that can be produced from different petroleum refining processes. Until they are blended with ethanol for retail consumption, we refer to these components collectively as motor gasoline blending components.

The widening price spread in the spot market between high-octane gasoline blendstock (used to produce premium-grade gasoline) and low-octane gasoline blendstock (used to produce regular-grade gasoline) reflects the higher costs associated with producing high-octane gasoline.

Big day in court today. Judge Chutken will set the date for Trump’s DC trial - Smith has asked for Jan 2, 2024 - and Meadows’ motion to move his case to federal courts is going to be argued in GA.

DeSantis booed and heckled when he tried to address a crowd in Jacksonville.

Yeah you might go back and read the article I posted. Biden’s war on energy is responsible for the higher oil/gas prices.

The US owns about 2% of the world’s oil. US oil policy is not a needle mover. And the article you posted is about 99% right-wing propaganda bullshit.

Yeah for get to do your homework. It’s because of the environment and the teacher was racist. Everything is race and environment. As America burns financially.

Do you ever stop babbling?

Oh it is? So the old bumbling fool Joe didn’t do any of that? I love it when liberals pull the “propaganda card.” We were energy independent under Trump. Biden is having to tap into our reserves.

He tapped into reserves that it could be an engineering storage problem. He looted our reserves to save himself from his own policies. He planned on selling some of our reserves for his friends in China. Not sure if it happened or not. Bilaterally people were against it.
