CRT!

And leave the puppies alone.

And any states’ rights arguments go out the window with the fugitive slave law.

3 weekends ago took my friends grandkids black, and other kids white to black museum. We took part and had discussions when questions were asked. How do you fix past wrongs that happened way before I was a glint in my mom’s eye. Kindness of your heart and knowledge.

And not voting for republicans

Or with the states’ articles of succession. It’s flat out lying to suggest slavery wasn’t the cause.

You’re clueless. Shit still goes on, commonly called “institutional racism.” Its continued existence is helped by idiots like you who proclaim that racial injustice is only a thing of the past.

Refuse to vote dem again. Only good vote bill Bradley. Other waste. This is America, you vote for who you want and believe. Not because some idiot tells me I should. Welcome to America new arrival.

A start would be not such a chickenshit that you are afraid to talk about it or worse lie about it.

Lie about it? There is no sugar coating evil. But I do believe we need to learn from the past, move forward, and all be better. Slavery ended 100 years before I was born. Other than what goes on today behind the scenes. Rake me over the coals, I will still get up.

Your first sentence is entirely the problem with politics in America. You have no desire to evaluate candidates and their policy stances and decide which individuals and party to support each election cycle based on logic and reason. Instead, you have made your mind up that the Democratic Party is bad, and you will never vote for one of their candidates for the rest of your life.

Still trying to catch that turtle! :turtle:

Just let the puppies alone. Don’t smoke.

My oldest brother came down to Texas for environmental work in 70’s. Came back with Paco a Texas tortoise. I have no idea why he brought him, or her home. Not supposed to do that. What we do.

I was thinking, aside from Trump, some pretty cool people have had their mugshot taken. Me, Nelson Mandela, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Mahatma Gandhi, M.L. King, Malcolm X, Keith Richards, Woody Guthrie, and many more.

You can add Willie and me to your list of luminaries

So let’s start with a statement we can agree on.

One way to learn is to simply understand what critical race theory actually is rather than accept at face value the talking points on “CRT” that is being spewed by people with a political agenda.

CRT is actually a prertty simple concept and hard to dispute at its root.

  1. race is a social contruct. Not biology, but a culturally invented category used to subjugate one group by another. In the US, people of color by whites. For example, enslavement of blacks.

  2. the laws/legal structures of the US have been and are inherently racist in that they have created and maintained this inequality between white and nonwhites. To learn from the past, we see examples such as legalized slavery, redlining of neighborhoods.

CRT is not the bogeyman that right wing politicians would like folks to believe it is. The main point that stems from it is that we can’t just not be individually unprejudiced, but that we need to quit making laws that perpetuate the inequality and get rid of those that do. And we need to quit thinking of race as having more than made up significance.
