The Inevitable What About The Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread Thread

I saw $60mm.

Of course, the recall is likely illegal. Because he commits crimes in his sleep.

“I don’t know that calling it a refund changes the fundamental illegality,” Noti said. “For the Super Pac and the Trump Pac to be sending tens of millions dollars back and forth depending upon who needs the money more strongly suggests unlawful financial coordination.”

The PAC is paying for a ton of lawyers, not just for himself, but for all of his cronies who have not (yet) flipped. I saw a figure of $100mm for total spending on lawyers for Team Trump to date, which is unsustainable, and his legal costs will only increase as adds two more cases (at least) and eventually gets to trial.

All of Trump’s “they’re coming after you, I’m just in the way” nonsense is to keep Grandpa and Grandma opening their pocket books and sending what’s left of their retirement savings to him. This is bad for the GOP in the short, medium and long term, as Trump will tap out the small donors and fail to bring in (legitimate) big money donors.

Thanks, found the article and you’re correct - $60m was the figure which is even more staggering:

This idiot went bankrupt owning a casino. He’s blown through hundreds of millions in inheritance. Burning through $100mm of PAC money is child’s play for Trump.

If he had any clue, he’d be worried about keeping his legal team together, because they aren’t going to stick around very long once the checks stop coming.

I hope it blows up in his, fat, orange, racist, traitorous, russkie-compromised face.

The DC grand jury has finished its work for the day. There is now an over-populated zoom call of pundits on the TV explaining how they have no fucking clue what’s going on.

Stop your grinnin’ and drop your linen. Prosecutors have entered the courthouse, and “grand jury returns” has been added to the docket.

A sealed indictment has been handed up. We don’t yet know what it says because it’s, you know, sealed.

Smith making a statement shortly (it’s 4:40pm CDT right now).

Trump indicted on 4 counts arising out of Jan 6, including Obstruction and Conspiracy to Defraud the United States.

Full indictment here:

6 co-conspirators, as yet unnamed, but descriptions suggest they include: Giuliani, Clark, Powell and Eastman.

Verlander, Doddgers getting shunned and more Trump indictments?

Fun Fact: Mark Meadows is referenced in the indictment as the “Defendant’s Chief of Staff”. So he’s not one of the co-conspirators. Which means he’s a witness.

This is the least surprising thing ever. Every convo I was ever a part of with him around was always about him and how it affected him.

CC #4 is clearly Jeffrey “Where’s My Pants” Clark. They wanted to throw a boulder into the lake by announcing - without a shred of evidence - that there was massive fraud in the election. Then, they would sic the military on the public if/when there were protests.

It. Was. A. Fucking. Coup.

The question is will it matter, and will the press and the public just dismiss it as Trump being Trump. I can hear it now: Trump unsuccessfully attempted a coup, but Biden is old and has a crooked son

Nothing will penetrate the MAGA bubble; that’s not the point.

Smith has made his allegations under oath, in court, and will put them to the test of a jury trial. Trump runs his mouth anywhere except when under oath or in court. It matters for history, justice and any swing voters who might be leaning towards giving him another go.

Giuliani is CC #1.

So which Senators…?

I get that the brain dead MAGA cult won’t be penetrated, and they are roughly 30% of the electorate, but the NYT polling indicates a virtual tie in the latest polling. So, penetrating the non-MAGA segment that still might pull the lever for Trump is critical.

Co-Conspirators are believed to be as follows:

  1. Giuliani
  2. Eastman (confirmed by his lawyer)
  3. Powell
  4. Clark
  5. Chesebro
  6. ???

6 is a “political consultant”, so that could be Stone or Bannon, but the others are pretty solid IDs as the behavior in the indictment matches what we know them to have done.

Just political theatre to “get Trump” out of desperation and to take the focus off of the Biden crime family’s dirty dealings coming out.

The NYT poll was a virtual tie, with 14% undecided. It’s difficult to see Trump winning over undecided voters when he’s shedding Republican voters, in that voters identifying as Republican is a shrinking number. If they split 9% Biden / 5% Trump, that’s a landslide win for Biden.

Another thing to remember is that Trump’s campaign in 2020 was flat broke by the start of October. The TV airwaves were wide open for the Biden campaign, even in the critical swing states. That had to have an impact as Biden pulled out narrow wins in those states; similarly to how Clinton ignoring WI was a big reason as to her losing in 2016.

Trump is running out of PAC money already. Every penny he brings in will go to his legal defense and he will have nothing left to mount a campaign.
