Bregman carved the fuck up
To the 9th…5-1 Astros
Did you see how the dugout reacted during Maldonado’s hit? That is how the dugout reacts when I hit a home run in my church softball league.
Two in 10 years….
Pressly strikes out the side in the 9th
Astros win!
Stud inning by Pressley.
6 straight K’s by the bullpen.
Good job by Machete, turning off his targeting computer and trusting his instincts on Star Wars Night at MMP.
Yep. They didn’t even put a ball in play after the 7th.
My last home run was when I was 13 in PONY League. I topped out at doubles in slow pitch softball.
Doubles are the thinking man’s extra base hit.
The Arlington Asswipes is now my go-to.
I run short distances as slow as my swing is, much to the derisive delight / dismay of that same dugout. The team helped out with the logistics at a 5k my church puts on each year and were howling with shock and approval when I came in 4th place out of over 1,000 runners. Slow-twitch muscles FTW or FTL, depending on the circumstance…
This sub-headline is fantastic.
I’m pretty fast at short distances. And by short distances, I mean like three feet. Past that, not so fast. For years I had the reputation as not only a good glove behind the plate, but quick to move and block pitches. You couldn’t throw one by me. Quick release on throws too. But running the bases? Ha!
Framber is a man.
Good Framber is fun to watch.
Missed most of the game watching the Celtics w/ my grandson w/ GameDay on my phone.
This AM enjoyed the Ranger broadcast of Maldy’s hit in the 8th inning - wish I could have seen the dugout reaction to his hit…
Their BP is gassed:
- Last three games (all wins against the Angels) 12 relievers worked 12 innings.
- Last four games (including win over the Red Sox) 15 relievers, 15 innings.
- Last 5 games (19 relievers, 20 innings - Otto out after 4 innings.)
If he can command that inside fastball/sinker/whatever to right-handers at the same time that his curve is working, he’s hard to handle. He made the Rangers’ catcher (I think) look really silly a couple of times last night.
The video in the astros.com recap is quintesential Framber at his best. The repitoire was on full display.

And, the FanGraphs article is a good read on 2022 Framber. Don’t miss it. First posted by @Walt_Bond, of course:
It is kinda weird, but between this year and last, maldy does not hit well. But, he tends to get his small amount of hits to help the team at semi crucial points.
I was thinking about the play where Altuve was doubled off when Yordan flew out.
Now, I know a major leaguer should always have his head in the game but
I wonder if Yordan hitting 3rd ( only 1 out between them not 2) instead of 4th contributed?
Altuve could have been thinking there were 2 outs because 2 hitters are usually between he and Alvarez.
Maybe I’m over thinking and have no idea what I’m talking about.
