This loss is 100% on pitiful, dumbfuck coaching.
He did not survive the ground.
100% on Lovie.
This is a top-5 most Texany loss that the Texans have ever Texan’d.
Just sad.
The coach who shoulders the majority of the blame for the day is obviously Hamilton. But the organizational disarray is simply systemic. They have four or five players who are NFL quality, and that’s the result of building a team around character, whatever that is, rather than talent. That is driven by the owner and the GM. You can change coaches all you want, and they have, but the result will be what you see, a one win team.
If only it was a field goal game…
Now I’m embarrassed by them.
My two favorite professional tackle football teams will always be the beloved Houston Oilers and whoever plays the dallas cowboys. That being said, today I’m a Texans fan.
However, comma, this may the first time in years I’ve ever watched a Texans game, and it’s fitting pathetic for the silly franchise that took the Oilers’ place.
Luv ya Blue.
This game was there for the taking. All the Texans had to do was not monumentally fuck it up at the last minute. Coaches made sure they did.
Somebody put Tunsil out of our misery.
Seriously though, who didn’t see that ending coming from the beginning of of the 4th.
But they had the game in the 4Q. Smith and Hamilton made sure they did not win.
Tunsil is a fucking joke, and what they gave up for him is criminal, and of course it all came down to the team’s dickheadery pissing off Duane Brown (and their unwillingness to pay him). This has been a deeply unserious organization for its entire history.
They had one of the top five left tackles in the league but didn’t want to pay him. To remedy this, they traded two first round picks for a guy who was orders of magnitude worse and cost more money.
And is apparently unteachable.
Not to defend Tunsil in totality, but at minimum the 2nd of those happened because he moved as the playclock hit zero and the C never bothered to snap the ball.
I don’t know if he’s unreachable or not, but I know he’s a marginal, bottom-tier NFL tackle who could not start for any other team.
It was as if the Astros didn’t want to pay Carlos Correa $30MM so they trade him, Altuve, and Bregman for Cody Bellinger and give him a 15-year extension for $500MM.
Those false starts were not the reason the Texans lost this game.
Funny thing is, that probably wasn’t in the top ten of worst moves while O’Brien was the head coach.
