Here’s what I hear from my source: Deshaun is in Cabo and has had no contact with anyone from the team, so any specific information about his frame of mind is almost certainly coming from his agent. I’m not arguing that it’s incorrect, just not straight from Deshaun.
Also, the leading candidate for HC is Panthers OC Joe Brady, but he won’t take the job until he sits down with Deshaun. So maybe he’s not a total moron.
How Texans is this?
- Search firm and Jamey Rootes (team president) recommend hiring Omar Khan as GM
- Easterby gauges the room and realizes he has a good chance of getting fired
- Omar Khan is offered job, negotiations with his agent begin
- Easterby goes to Cal’s house and through powers of suggestion and/or hypnosis, strongly advocates for the one guy who he knows will not fire him
- Cal agrees, hires Nick Caserio
- Rootes is pissed and is apparently on the verge of quitting
Rootes can go fuck himself. He’s exactly like congressional Republicans, he’s been participating in and enabling this shit from the very beginning. He can DeVos himself now, but he’s not fooling anyone.
