Shay Whitcomb leads the team to this point with a .250 average, 7 HR, 13 Dbls and a .863 OPS.
Brice Matthews has 12 stolen bases in 14 attempts so far but getting on base is the the issue with a .209 average and 41 Ks in 110 AB (He has taken 24 BB)
Jacob Melton hasn’t played since 4/17 due to a groin injury.
Pitching wise, Colton Gordon has made 7 starts and has a 2.48 ERA in 36 1/3 IP. He is averaging just 2 walks per 9.
This is such a great note from that article re: Ullola. His fastball is so wicked and wild that when he has to throw a strike, he goes to the slider. Pitching backward in an entirely different sense. I love it.
His slider ranges from a cutter to a bullet slider, and it is his go to weapon, both for whiffs and for getting a pitch in the zone. It has the highest zone% of any of his pitches, including the fastball.
The most repeated thing I’ve read about Ullola the last two years is if he had average command of his pitches he’d already be in the MLB. They’re that good.
