Whitcomb seems like as good of an option as Rogers.

Yeah, but Rogers is a former first-round pick, so he’ll keep getting chances.

Brice Matthews was #1 on BA’s Hot Sheet this week.

Dana Brown said Sunday that he’s a big fan, but that he’s not ready for MLB yet, pointing to his high swing-and-miss and massive home/road splits.

Plus Brice and Miguel Ullola also listed in a BBA article about prospects that have off the chart type measurables.

This is such a great note from that article re: Ullola. His fastball is so wicked and wild that when he has to throw a strike, he goes to the slider. Pitching backward in an entirely different sense. I love it.

His slider ranges from a cutter to a bullet slider, and it is his go to weapon, both for whiffs and for getting a pitch in the zone. It has the highest zone% of any of his pitches, including the fastball.

The most repeated thing I’ve read about Ullola the last two years is if he had average command of his pitches he’d already be in the MLB. They’re that good.
