I scrolled through the Facebook post about Jackie Robinson and it was full of Fox News bootlicking shitsacks whining about the Astros, and after 2 minutes my blood was fucking boiling. I had to put my phone down and go outside and calm down. Fucking embarrassing what our society is becoming.

Kennedy was shot on Friday. I had a geology lab which met on Sat mornings, and it was not called off. We went on a field trip that morning on a bus, and the guy sitting next to me told me he had been at a party Friday night celebrating the assassination.

What was behind those feelings towards Kennedy? Was it civil rights related, Cold War stuff, or what? I guess I never realized that there was that much hatred towards him.
When Kennedy was shot, Staub and Aspromonte attempted to boycott the following game. Each was traded in short order, with Staub in a refusal to play deal by Don Clendenon which predates the Curt Flood case.
I have no idea in my situation. I quit talking to the guy. I think there was a lot of animosity toward Kennedy. The Camelot bullshit was just thatā¦bullshit. He was going to have some problems getting re-elected in 1964. That is a big reason he came to Texas.
