Science & Engineering Shit

I also was good at math but struggled with physics. Problem is, I also struggled with chemistry and biology.

Here’s something else to chew on while you’re lying there contemplating your existence: the speed of light is constant to the observer, everywhere in the universe, even if the observer is moving…unless the observer is moving with the light itself. So you can observe it takes however many minutes or hours or years for a light particle to go from Point A to Point B, but if you’re traveling with that light particle, no time elapses. You simply jump from one point in the universe to another instantly.

You’re welcome.

This is why, with relativity, “time travel” forward in time is possible.

Well, isn’t that Spec…er… General.

I like the Quantum Leap theory of time travel. Time is linear, but not straight. It’s like a big ball of string, where all the points in the timeline are touching each other, essentially occupying the same space. All we have to do is move from one observation of the space to another and voila we’re observing a different point in time.

Watching Congress ask questions of media tech execs is like watching a kitten…ask questions of media tech execs.

I wouldn’t say all Republicans are flerfs, but most are.

“Does it access my home network?” Seriously?

These people would be positively apoplectic if they understood how digital marketing/advertising works.

I see Dan Crenshaw is going with the General Chang eyepatch.

Although Chang’s looks bolted onto his face.

I realize that the intent here is to point and laugh at old white Republicans, but if you parse through the flubbed pronunciations and mild detours into crazytown, they are raising some (mostly) fair questions about (mostly) plausible concerns. If The Social Dilemma taught us anything, it’s that social media companies collect a metric fuckton of data about their users, and that they are not necessarily trustworthy.

One of them caught the Tik Tok rep in a trap, where he basically “pleaded the fifth” as to whether the Chinese government has access to the data their app harvests.

I do not have the app and I don’t visit the site. I know all the SM apps are spying on us, but Tim Tok is one of the most aggressive.

I’m assuming that pro-business members of Congress will reserve their indignation for the marketers and advertisers that make political contributions to Democrats.

So there is a line.

Despite the previous president’s efforts to obliterate it, of course there is a line.
