The Japanese did occupy Taiwan for 50 years.
And they did a lot of raping while there.
National grudges aside, the issues with Teng re: Asian recruitment are that (a) Taiwan isn’t that big a talent pipeline and (b) he signed as an amateur, not a pro. When you’re trying to bring over NPB & KBO guys, you want professionals from those leagues to vouch for your organization. A kid who signed out of Taiwan at 17 and eventually found his way to your org is a very different thing.

I guess he reaggravated the injury on his final stretch of rehabbing or some shit. Even rugged guys who aren’t fragile as fine china shouldn’t rush back. I wasn’t counting on the delicate butterfly to return anyway.
If he plays 75 games next year I will be pleasantly surprised.
