Roster Moves 2025

I thought he had just been through the recovery period for elbow surgery?

Edit: Yep, he has had TJ. Not sure I would go through that again. Of course, he doesn’t get paid if retired.

I just looked at Garcia’s career Astro record. 3.60 ERA in 360 IP. Very solid. I wish him well.

It just sucks so bad to go thru all that, get a taste of a return, then have to do it all it all again.

My thought too. His comeback lasted a couple of games.

Is it Tommy John surgery again? Man I really feel for the guy.

No word on what he needs from the usual sources (Rome, Tags). Romero said flexor damage was confirmed. Could be one of those where they’ll know once they open him up, TJ, internal bracing, etc.

Don’t know if this is one of those things only I find interesting:

Correa was at 1.2 WAR with the Twins, and already has 1.5 WAR with the Astros

Jake Meyers scratched with calf soreness, because why not?

Kalas will probably be droning on about having him healthy for the Postseason.

In Kalas’ head, they start the season 15 games up

…“with a no hitter going”

Yeah TK is probably filling up a thread with all the nuances of magic numbers and scenarios for Astros to get in.

Jake to the IL, Brice Matthews recalled.

Nick Hernandez DFA, LMJ activated (in a move that feels a lot like conceding the season).

What’s the old line…

He’s “day to day”

There’s only one game left

Well, then I guess he’s just “day”.

You know what feels like conceding the season? The last three months.

Not having Melton in the 3 hole.

THAT’S conceding the season.

McCullers starts today after being brought back for the last game. Has real ‘farewell appearance’ vibes…

I hope he throws a no hitter.

I hope he throws 27 straight curveballs, each one a first pitch groundout with that flavor of perfect game henceforth forever known as a “McCullers”.

Would you settle for a 27 pitch first inning?

Not that this is a surprise, but Luis Garcia has undergone another Tommy John surgery. Stick a fork in him. He’s done.
