Roster Moves 2025

A lot like Melton, that’s the thing he’s least able to do on a baseball field.

Agreed, but right now he has confidence. If the major leaguers hit their spots and pitch him tough…it may be Melton ugly, but if they don’t and leave a few mistakes over the plate early and he can bang them, then who knows. I’ll hope for the best until given reason not to.

Maybe. But the biggest jump in competition in baseball is from AAA to the Majors. It’s exceedingly rare for a guy to make more contact in the Big Leagues than he does in the minors. Not saying it’s impossible, but…

I understand.

Salazar to AAA, Garcia to 60 day, Cole up

I have no idea how they’ll manage the 40 man in the offseason

Not many free agents, I imagine there will be some trades in the first couple of days of the offseason

I have as FA:

Kimbrel
Trammell

All but certain to be DFA:
McCormick

That would leave 6 more cuts to get to 40.

I don’t see any way LMJ stays.

You think Crane just eats his $17M like he’s doing with Jose Abreu? Or, will the Astros pay down his salary / attach a prospect to convince another team to take him?

I doubt anyone who’s been paying attention is interested.

That elbow has been rode hard and put away wet.

I agree with you. I’m more doubting Crane will just eat the $17 million and release him when they have a ton of pitching injuries that will linger into 2026, and the money is a sunk cost.

Speaking of Lance, he’s going on the IL with hand soreness, Gordon back up

Fucking hell. It’s called can’t cut it and need another phantom injury to clear a spot for someone that might be able to give the team meaningful innings.

Did Gordon learn to throw with the other hand? I thought he was due for surgery.

No, that was, well, nearly everyone else

Dana Brown told reporters that he is “very confident” Isaac Paredes returns to the Astros this year.

If he’s not here for the next six games he’s likely wasting his time…
