Roster Moves 2025

Forrest Whitley’s knee sprain is related to his injury this spring, which was termed a bone bruise, Espada said: “When he was playing catch yesterday, felt the knee again. So we decided to shut him down.” Whitley will fly home with the team and be evaluated tomorrow.

Good. They are heeding the fragile sticker that is on his forehead.

I just do not understand that guy. His first outing was great, and he complains about every little ache?

I’m pretty sure Ort had to come off the IL (his 30-day rehab assignment was over) so that may have played into it.

I was thinking the same thing. After everything he’s been through, he finally sticks on a Big League roster, and he’s got an ouchie? If I finally got that far, they’d have to physically drag my ass of the field. I don’t care if my leg was severed at the knee…get some duct tape.

Yeah. He gets 6 outs throwing 97, but an owie has him on the IL. Someone needs to get in his face and scream.

I read that Blubaugh is at Daiken.

Tomorrow’s SP is “TBD”

Wesneski’s velo was noticibly down in his last start and since this is his first year as a regular starter, they have said they want to be careful of his innings.

Espada said Wesneski is healthy, they just want to give him a couple extra recovery days.

Blubaugh is among the options to start the game tomorrow but will not make any announcement until after tonights game

Other news, McCullers will throw a bullpen tomorrow and if all goes well, his next start could be with the Astros

Is he already on the 40-man, or is someone else at risk with that move?

MLB.com says he’s on the 15 day IL, so he’s on the 40 man roster. They would just need to take someone off the 26 man roster.

He’s on the 40-man. If they had moved him to the 60-day IL he wouldn’t have been eligible to return until the end of May

I could be wrong, but I think Lance has to either be activated tomorrow(or Thursday maybe) or stay on the IL for another 15 days. He made his first rehab appearance on 3/30 and rehab for pitchers is maxed out at 30 days, tomorrow is 30 days.

Edit: unless his rehab timer was reset when he went two weeks without an appearance between 4/12 and 4/26?

Lance is on the 40.

Blubaugh isn’t

Blubaugh is being called up to make the start today, Bryan Abreu to the paternity list to make room on the roster. Haven’t seen a 40-man move yet

McCullers coming off the IL and starting on Sunday in Chicago. Dare to be hopeful?

Still haven’t seen a move to clear a 40-man spot for Blubaugh

They had a 40-man spot already open, so no move necessary

Shit. Yordan to the IL, hand inflammation. Salazar called up. Guess Caratini will take over more catching duties with Yainer sliding to DH.

Just yesterday it was “oh, he’s much better than yesterday, shouldn’t be too long.” There is no reason go believe anything this club says publicly about injuries.
