At some point, the Jon Singleton experiment has to end. Diaz is your first baseman on days he doesn’t catch, unless he needs an off day.
Dubon vs Meyers doesn’t bother me, other than Peña should not bat below Dubon in the order.

Another update: Yainer now at 1B, Singleton now at DH.
That makes more sense if you need to move people around later in the game.

It’s always nice when the stats confirm what your eyes are seeing. Disappointing though. I would attribute Dubon to regressing to the mean. Diaz, to being an excellent hitter, Maldonado in one of his typical extended slumps. Pitchers figuring out Pena without a corresponding adjustment by him. And Singleton just being what he is.

Speaking of Singleton…I’m down here about five rows behind the Astros dugout and Singleton is NOT a small man. He’s nearly as tall as Kyle Tucker and considerably taller, and wider, than just about anyone else, except maybe Peña.
