He’s erratic. The fourth inning is a great example. He couldn’t find it, forgot to immediately cover first and loaded the bases. Then, he got pissed off and could suddenly command his rising fastball again. He got out of the inning allowing no runs.

All that said about Javier, a different pitcher emerged after he loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth inning. He looked a lot better after that.
Kalas and Blum said he had more than 20 swings and misses tonight.
