My comment about Matranga’s fake hustle dives made me wonder about his career. I discovered this factoid:
David Matranga had one mlb hit: a homer in his first plate appearance with the Astros. He was a pinch hitter.
He had one appearance with the Angels, and that was it for MLB.
First Major League plate appearance, touched all the bases. Never touched another one.
I once met Matranga at a charity event. My brush with baseball greatness.
Good slugging percentage.
