Rangers @ Astros, August 2, 2026

People who were not watching the game will understandably think that the GameDay rendering of the final strike to Walker is an error. It is not.

The “swing” was even worse than the pitch

I’m not sure it was actually that close. He had to duck out of the way as he swung.

I imagine more than a few people are going to look at Walker’s at bat and wonder How can he be out that’s only two strikes? before eventually locating the third strike.

I’ve done that before, usually with Altuve or Diaz. Where is strike three? Oh, it’s off the page.

Astros now 0-6 w/RISP

No score after two.

Altuve should be leading the league in walks being his strike zone us the smallest. Instead he helps out the other team more than he does us by swinging at everything. Get him some glasses or make his arms longer.. something.

The Astros have made 6 outs so far the game, half of them are with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs.

5 of them have been with a runner in 3rd.

Altuve has been this way his whole career. He is what he is. But he’s gotten considerably worse at swinging at shit this season.

That’s why I said get him some glasses or longer arms. I’d flat out tell him if he wants to play he better drop those bad habits and at least get on base. He has been drawing some walks and needs to keep that up and not swinging out of his shoes at the first offering in the dirt. Rocker can’t hit the strike zone and we’re bailing him out. So far anyway.

Lambert with another clean inning.

Middle of three, no score.

That Cauley kid for the rangers looks like he’d get carded buying cigarettes.

Tell him if you want but what you see with Altuve is what you are going to get.

He’s 36 years old in his 16th season. He is what he is.

Yordan with a dribble infield single.

And he has Biggio status. His name goes on the lineup card at 2B until he retires. No sense handwringing about his performance.

Exactly. He’s the most important player in franchise history. He’s at the end of his career. This is who he is.
