Postseason 2020

Painful to watch that in the last inning of their likely last game

I wouldn’t say he’s “hitting”, Bob.

How the fuck do you take a fastball down the middle in the 9th inning of the World Series elimination game?

Just like that, apparently.

Adames did the same thing.

Unbelievable.

Fastball down the middle for out 2

Fastball down the middle for out 3

The Reverse Grady sure paid off…

Adames just wanted it to be over.

No denying the Dodgers were clearly better.

But in another way, fuck the Dodgers.

Well, I feel sorry for the Rays players. They had a helluva season.

Now we can put asterisk next to this Dodger win, and get ready for 2021.

I would hope that this makes all the Dodgers stop whining, but I know better.

They were up against it and battled admirably, G6 9th inning notwithstanding.

The true outcomes style can only get you so far if 75% of your lineup bats .150.

They struck out 16 times tonight.

I don’t know, they’ve convinced themselves this is their fifth World Series title in a row.

I find it fitting that it took someone out-Roberts-ing Roberts for Roberts to finally get over the hump.

Cash says his “thinking was right.”

Gotta stick with the process, doncha know. No such thing as riding the hot hand or having a feel for THIS game. Process. Numbers. Spreadsheets. Times through the order. Stick with the process.

Even if you lose.

I don’t know what the record is, but there were 27 strikeouts in last night’s game. In 8.5 innings. That’s like one team not even getting to hit the whole game. The Rays struck out 16 times…over 5 innings worth…against 7 different pitchers.

That’s just sad.

Yep…let’s face it…the Dodgers won because there were no days off in the NLCS and they faced Kevin Cash in the World Series.

I fully support the idea that the right thought process, and even the right decision, can still lead to a bad outcome.

This was not one of those cases.

Seriously, that Snell decision boggles my mind. I do not give a damn if he was a five-inning pitcher all year. He was not that last night. The ability to adjust to the flow of THIS game separates great managers from ok/bad ones. Think Hinch staying with Peacock in Game Three and with CFM in Game Seven. I know about Giles’ problems, but Anderson’s playoff stats were bad. Screw the process/book. Manage THIS game.
