Phils at Astros, 10/4/22

I assume y’all are talking about letting him run.

Hensley and Dubon are the middle infielders now.

Yes but Pena ran the bases.

You assume correctly.

Brown and Hensley cover some vertical space.

Totally hit the runner’s foot, but whatever.

Brown leaves after 1 out in the 8th, and there’s still some drama in this game.

How weird is it that the scoring on that would be a hit resulting in the lead runner getting out?

And not a fielders choice?

We’re leaving this in Will Smith’s hands?

Guess Dusty don’t give a fuck.

DAMN YOU WILL SMITH

Oh well

I don’t trust Smith as far as I could throw him, and these days that’s about 0.0 inches.

How would JV’s HoF plaque have reflected that?

Three no-hitters? Four no-hitters? Three no-hitters and a portion of a fourth? 3 5/9 no hitters?

Doesn’t matter anymore

Maybe this cements Smith staying home for the playoffs

Correct on all counts, thought differently

He got three lefties out without giving up a run. Hello, post season roster.

Ballgame.

10-0.

We’re ready.

Fuck all that, I am slightly pissed off.

Of course Stubbs got the hit.

The Astros won a 10-0 game, their 105th of the season with their ace pitching a masterful game tuning up for the post season and the batters crushing the ball and all I can do is see red at Dusty’s choice for the 9th inning. Smith has done better with the Astros but he’s a classic hit-yielding bend-don’t-break pitcher this year. No hitters are a capstone moment for a franchise and attending one is a lifetime memory for fans. Shame on Dusty for not managing to the moment.

He left 3 games this year in the 5th inning or later with no hitters intact. That has to be some record.
