Pennsylvania

On a personal note…my great, great grandfather was a Confederate soldier who fought at Gettysburg, as part of the ill-fated Pickett’s Charge. He was wounded, and captured, and spent the rest of the war as a Union POW at Ft. Delaware. After the war he had to walk back to Florida.

I recommend this place as well. You can take the Duquesne Incline up the hill, which is extremely cool in its own right.

What was Pickett really like?

Wilson could rock on.

George was rather aggressive.

Pittsburgh:

  • the Incline is pretty cool, and as noted above, there several good restaurants at the top of the hill.
  • if you’re into local history, there’s the Heinz History Center, or you can do a bus tour like this one: https://www.pghtours.com

Philadelphia:

  • Reading Terminal Market is a must for food
  • The locals say skip Pat’s and Geno’s, and head to Tony Luke’s for cheesesteaks
  • Hard to go to Philly and not do the Old City District and Liberty Bell
