I just hosted a tasting at the winery for one of Turley’s longtime Mailing List members. He was kind enough to tip me $60 for my efforts. So there’s my contribution. And I would absolutely fucking love to an Aussie baseball team.
I stayed up to watch the Wallabies v Ireland. Kara was super thrilled about my enthusiasm for the rugby at 3AM. Also, fucking Ben Donaldson can’t convert a penalty to win the match??
Hey mate, I don’t think about too much other than fishing these days. I retired a couple of years ago decided that instead of spending most mornings watching 5+ hours of baseball I would get of my arse and do something more worthwhile. You blokes are lucky that you can get games in the evenings. Talking about lucky, shortly after I retired, the government decided to put a partial fishing ban in place. Not everything, just snapper and grouper and the best eating fish. 14 months to go, but who’s counting… I like reading all of your and others takes on the variety of topics that cover and I’m pretty sure the level of humour in this forum is directly proportionate to Astros performance. The more the team stomps on their dicks, the funnier you guys get.
I have an update, and sorry to get everyone’s hopes up about being Perth Heat owners, but apparently there has been recent change. The Heat are now operated by an outfit called Black Pearl Sports Group. It’s interesting that the Black Pearl Sports Group also operate the Sydney Blue Sox. So, the league has four teams and two of them are operated by this Black Pearl operation. It looks the franchise is owned by the league so they may still be open to offers?
Did they do this to allow time for the fishery to recover? That’ll only happen if they enforce the coastal waters from rogue Chinese trawlers. And, that’s a lot of coastline to enforce…
If you had told me before the game that one team would be in constant possession and the other would be dropping back and hoping to strike on a counter, I would have said “of course”. But the teams would have been reversed.
