Spurs - fresh off losses to Palace and Ipswich - gave Citeh a 0-4 beating at the Emptihad.

Nice.

The only thing worth staying up for last night:

Desperate Publicist: “Do you want to speak to Jenny McCarthy?”

Martin Brundle: “Umm…no.”

In F1 news, after rejecting a GM-supported bid by Mario Andretti to be the 11th team, and then rejecting a joint Andretti-Cadillac bid, F1 has finally accepted a Cadillac-branded bid to enter the sport in the 2026 season.

It really does seem that the issue was that shallow. It’s going to be the Andretti team, with Mario in a senior management role, but just branded after the car manufacturer.

What I don’t know is whether they will expand the grid. Back in the day, “qualifying” meant exactly that. There were more cars than grid boxes, so only the fastest 20 qualified for the race on Sunday and everyone else could jog on.

I hope this is how it will be as it adds so much more drama to the Saturday running.

Citeh is having a rough month.

That was great.

I doubt there will ever be a better player for one of my teams.

Clayton has some fantastic videos for anybody that is interested in NBA historical content.

Anything on the 86 Celtics?

He does. He has two different “making the case” series. One for best player and another for best team ever. I believe it’s 8 in each series but the 86 Celtics are one of the teams that get a video. Larry Bird is also one of the player videos, so that covers that team a little bit too.

Going off memory, the players are Tim Duncan, Larry Bird, Karim, Jordan, Lebron, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, and Magic

The teams were 01 Lakers, 86 Celtics, 87? Lakers, 72 Lakers, 70something Bucks? 96 Bulls, 17 Warriors, 88 Pistons? I don’t remember the teams as well as I do the players. I’m probably getting a few wrong

Watched some of that. Great video.

I’ll listen to arguments for 86 Celtics, 96 Bulls, and 17 Warriors.

There’s really no way to say anyone other than MJ or LeBron for best player.

72 Lakers were pretty stout. Like several others here, I actually got to watch them.

Each video has it’s own angle and isn’t meant for comparison per se but to highlight how amazing each of the 8 players were and what makes them stand out. I don’t think anybody comes away from Tim Duncans video thinking he’s best ever but it does make me think about maybe he’s the best player to have as a face of the franchise

Damn we got some old bastards around here.

A bit ago, Wemby did something (50pts, 20 rbs?, 10 something else or whatever) for the 1st time in his career?

They then showed the leaderboard for how many times this had happened:

Wilt Chamberlain: 118

Elgin Baylor: 16
Oscar Robertson: 15
A whole bunch of other people: fewer

The other thread got me thinking earlier today that in many respects, the older you are, the luckier you are. I was going to remark that we are in the society of a number of fellows who are enjoying some rather exceptional fortune.
