Iāve got tickets to see him at Moody this fall, and saw him at Bass last year.
He puts on an incredible show, and really is just so insanely talented.

We saw him last year at the Walmart Amphitheater in Rogers. Itās a great production, plus Puddles was the opening act. I think heās on the tour again this year. Puddles having access to all of Weird Alās stage equipment was pretty epic.
You are correct. He opened for Al last year and is his opener again this year.

I heard a great Weird Al story the other day. He wanted permission to do a parody of āLive and Let Dieā called Chicken Pot Pie. However, Paul wouldnāt let him because Paul is a vegetarian. They suggested Al choose another food for the song but Al was adamant it had to be Chicken Pot Pie. He wanted the ba-da-dum, da-dum, da da as chickens clucking. Genius!
I havenāt stopped chuckling about that since I heard it last week.

To addā¦Weird Al doesnāt need permission from the artist, parody being protected speech and all, but his personal policy is that he wonāt do one if the original artist objects. Just more of him being an overall good dude. Iāve heard him talk about the Chicken Pot Pie deal, and also how he always wanted to do a Prince song, but Prince wasnāt keen on it so he never did.

Alejando Escovedo is playing at the Mucky Duck Friday and Saturday nights. Based on the Mucky Duckās website, tickets are still available.
Iām going to see Willie Nelson tonight because why not. Also on the bill are the Avett Brothers who have been previously discussed in these pages.

Got to the venue before the Avett Brothers go on which was the goal. This is some package tour with 11 acts, most of which are horrible. New country type bullshit. As I walked into the venue there was a steady stream of people in cowboy hats and those stupid ass dull toed boots leaving, country music fans, having seen whoever it was they came to see and happy to leave before Willie.
Donāt worry, Iām monitoring the GZ. Bring it home, boys.

I used to live with a couple, a friend of mine and his German wife, now ex wife, predictably. She used to complain that American washers clean clothes for āone short hour.ā

Not exactly Willie, but went to the West Texas Symphony tonight. Guest was pianist Clayton Stephenson, who played Prokofievās Concerto #3. Just wow.
