New album from The Cure dropped today. It’s just so gorgeously bleak.

New album from Willie today too.

“Last Leaf on the Tree” is an album of firsts and familiarities; it is Nelson’s first album produced entirely by his son Micah, which includes a few originals and covers from Nelson staples like Neil Young, Nina Simone and Tom Waits as well as some less-than-obvious inclusions, like reimaginations of the Flaming Lips’ “Do You Realize??” and Beck’s “Lost Cause.”

Sorry. I’ll be busy curled up and sobbing in the fetal position.

This is his 96th? studio album?

He hasn’t broke a hundred yet, right?

Willie Nelson covering the Flaming Lips, what a world.

He should do a cover of 96 Tears.

fuuuuck yes. Not sure how it would sound but I like it. Hadn’t thought of that song in a long time.

Willie, Waylon, and the Mysterians?

Question Mark and the Mysterians.

? and the Mysterians.

The Apple Music review is fantastic. Worth a read, for sure. Here’s a small little excerpt:

“is majestic and mournful, with string swells and apocalyptic lyrics about birds falling out of the sky. But mostly it’s about dying alone, the shattered pieces of a regret-filled life, and the forgone conclusion that is our mutual demise”

I was at the record store yesterday and saw this on the rack. I didn’t pick up a copy, but will give some of it a listen and then maybe

I gave the new The Cure album a listen yesterday. Pleasantly moody and broody, long instrumental stretches throughout. Nothing stuck out as an obvious earworm, but those usually take a listen or two for them to take hold. Favorite track was “I Can Never Say Goodbye”

Did they also do “I’ll Stop In the Name of Love?”

Not sure how you can watch this yet, but it’s absolutely on the list:
