Mihoba Fantasy Baseball League

Next you’ll be saying that you like crepes! Whatever else may have the runs, these colors don’t.

What are the scoring changes we have going into effect this year?

Thank you for reminding me of this and my apologies for the late notice. Starting this year wins are worth 5 points and quality starts (QS) are worth 5 points.

With 12 votes for option B (making wins worth five points and adding quality starts as a new category worth an additional five points for starting pitchers), we will make the change beginning with the 2025 season.

Reminder, since there are three new managers in the league, not to draft Ohtani (pitcher). Please put him on your do-not-draft list if you aren’t going to be able to be present for the whole draft @jwhudson, @ClownQuestions. Our league considers Ohtani one person but Yahoo considers him two. Whoever keeps him therefore automatically gets “the other Ohtani” with his final pick of the draft.

They don’t have to worry about selecting Ohtani the pitcher. I’ve inputted him as your last round pick. Yahoo

Thank you to everyone for participating in tonight’s draft.

Also, to everyone with Cubs and Dodgers that played in Japan and want those stats, please place them in your lineups for this Thursday, March 27. I will set that as the day for Yahoo to run retroactive scoring for the Japan games.

Yahoo will copy your lineup on March 27 as your lineup for March 18 and 19 when the Cubs and Dodgers played.

How is the waiver claim order determined to start the season?

Reverse of draft order.

I don’t think we should be able to choose here and I’m saying this as someone who has Yamamoto, Happ and Swanson who were all fairly productive. I know it probably doesn’t matter because it’s only two games but I think either everyone has to include these games or not. Honor code? If you normally would have played X player than you should put him in your lineup regardless of their production in those two games. Easiest thing is to not include especially since we didn’t know this would be an option until after the draft. Thoughts?

So, under last year’s scoring, Yamamoto would have had 24 points and under the current scoring it is 19. Correct?

ETA: what are the parameters for a “quality start”?

A QS is a start with 3 or fewer ER and at least 6.0 IP. Any more ER and it’s not a QS, no matter how deep the pitcher goes. Likewise 5 shutout innings is not a QS either.

It’s not a choose situation, sorry if my wording seemed to indicate that. Also, I respect that you are new to the league, but we included the Korea games last season.

Everyone’s lineup needs to include the Dodgers and Cubs they would have started in the Japan games in their lineups for this Thursday.

No worries, and you’re welcome, Adam. I should have made it clear we were using retroactive scoring for the Japan games before the draft, but I was busy with other things and forgot to do so.

If you have any questions during the season, feel free to ask myself or @Ron_Brand, and we will answer as best we can.

Big thanks to The Little Engine That Could for helping me workout my closer conundrum. Rainbow Guts are fixed and ready for the season. Looking to be active in additional trades, so if you need pitching give it a look. Cheers!!
