It is always hard to knock a team out who has their back against the wall. Hard to believe our manager didn’t take this one seriously. He had better take the next one seriously.
It’s like they have this abiding belief that they deserve a post season appearance and it’ll happen regardless of how they play or how their opponents play.
And now we’ve given their closer the night off.
Tomorrow is an absolute must win to me. They don’t win tomorrow, I don’t see them making the Postseason.
Astros down to their last outs…chasing five runs
Diaz grounds out 5-3
They’re not winning tomorrow: Kirby will shut them down. It’ll come down to Wednesday.
Gilbert tomorrow I think, Kirby Wednesday.
Singleton pops up

Gilbert tomorrow I think, Kirby Wednesday.
Yep. Framber better throw a shutout
That’s worse.
They also said Castillo may be back and they may slot him in to one of these two games.
Caratini grounds out 4-3
And that’s does it for this exhibition game.

They also said Castillo may be back and they may slot him in to one of these two games.
Seriously…it has to happen tomorrow or it likely doesn’t. Someone had better tell Espada it isn’t a fucking Spring Training game.
The absolute (next-to-)worst thing that could happen is for us to bork this series completely, then eke out the division but have Seattle get the #6 wildcard because we gave them life. Because they’ll come in here like berserkers and take us out.
No way we eke out this division by winning 2 against Guardians. If Seattle sweeps us at home, they could prob sweep the A’s.

They get swept this series, it’s over. They ain’t winning two games in Cleveland. This has to end tomorrow.
If tonight’s version of the Astros is who is playing this series, the Mariners will easily take the division.
I understand the pitching matchups are tough, but holy fuck. Just a few actual competitive at bats would be nice.
Hate to break it to you, but I’m pretty sure this Astro team will be handled quite easily in any post season matchup if they’re lucky enough to make it.
I’m not trying to be negative, just realistic. I’ll see it as a great accomplishment that they even make it with an entire starting rotation on the IL and key pieces missing significant time in addition to their first baseman performing so poorly that it required retirement. Not to mention JV.
There’s plenty of talent on this team but this also is not the team that any of us imagined seeing on opening day.
One glaring stat that sticks out from last year and the year before….we have become one of the worse teams in the league (27th) in acquiring a walk as opposed to being in the top 10.
It’s the same scenario in giving up walks (26th) in the league as opposed to the middle of the pack in previous years.
Walks KILL
