Williams strikes out Springer, Altuve, and Bregman in the 9th to earn his first career save
I only hope this doesn’t put Verlander’s 2021 season in jeopardy, too.
So they won’t be going 60-0 this season
I assumed Verlander would be out for the year anyway. So yeah…
Well Devo sucked donkey balls today. Abreu looked terrible. Biagini looked terrible. Verlander out for the year. All in all a disappointing Sunday afternoon.
According to Baker, JV has a forearm strain and is shut down for the next two weeks.
I’m already prepped for him to be out for the season so anything less is gravy.
So Chandler Rome and the Chronicle jumped the gun. Shocking. Journalism in 2020 disgusts me, and I say that as someone that earned his degree in it.
The media would love for Verlander to be out the rest of the season. But with the little amount of games being played, it may not matter if he comes back or not. Someone will have to step up.

This.
Maybe Kyle Tucker can pitch too, eh Snuffy?
This is like the White House reporter for The Washington Post tweeting that the President has been shot and the White House later announcing that the President was in the room when shots were fired. Hard to see how you keep your job if it is really a forearm strain.
I was really disappointed in Altuve. Up with bases loaded, runner on third, and runner on second and responded with two strike outs and a pop up. A lousy day.
I’m kind of wondering if the “you have to pitch to three batters” rule is going to result in Devo becoming the mop-up guy. I have no confidence that he can retire three hitters in the same inning in a situation where it matters.
I would click on the heart thing for this, but a green stomach icon would be more appropriate.
Might need a slightly more reliable “unnamed source”.
