Lambert's Search for a good pitch - Angels @ Astros August 20 2026

Walker, Correa or Imai?

What a cesspool of a game. Assuming, of course, we don’t score 16 runs this inning to force extras.

Texans just gave up a go-ahead touchdown to the Raiders with 14 seconds. Spectacular night.

Correa hasn’t played enough to piss me off. I don’t know who Walker is.

Not that we’d have won if we did better, but the Astros were 1 for 12 with RISP tonight.

Don’t know what our hitting coaches are doing.

I never would have guessed we had 12 runners in scoring position, must have been early before I started paying attention.

And the Nexans are a bunch of fucking losers, too. I don’t care if it’s their 8th string defense and a QB they signed yesterday.

I should probably go fishing.

I went fishing yesterday, needed a day off.

I’m sad i missed LaMont’s 9th inning, how’d he look?

I’d say slightly worse than his hitting.

Well, at least the Astros forced a safety. Don’t want to know how many yards the Angels passed for tonight. It was ugly.

ETA - I’m going to drink a martini. Partly because of this game, partly because I’d like one.

We had Lamonte Fucking Wade batting leadoff tonight.

Ted Williams couldn’t make chicken salad out of this shit.

Ted’s best record as a manager was 86-76, that’s something the Stros should shoot for

Didn’t realize Imai actually pitched. I was joking about him pitching when they were down by 12 runs. That’s one expensive mop up guy.

I don’t know what anyone can expect a hitting coach to do with guys like Walker and Varsho who just can’t seem to even put together competitive at bats 80 percent of the time they’re at the plate.

Warning: ingredients may not include actual ā€œpitchingā€

Pitches are further outside than they appear.

Pena and Yordan haven’t exactly been hot either

We’re just gonna pretend that didn’t happen.

The game or the season?
