Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread

I’ve been busy today, how’s everything go…oh. Well then.

Here’s my shocked face.

Honestly, things are going far, far better than anyone had any reason to expect. Nexas gonna neck, of course, but there is real reason for hope.

And Florida and Ohio. Houston is an amazing city I love living in, there are pockets like it around the state, but on a whole this state’s voters are not good.

Ohio is pretty sad. It’s a master class in how the pigfuckers can dangle a discolored carrot and convince working class white people to vote against their interests on a continual basis. West West Virginia.

I always have the smallest hope Texas pulls it’s head out of it’s ass even by accident.

Not only that, Paxton, followed by the all-GOP Texas Supreme Court, nixed a judge’s order to keep Harris County polling places open an hour longer because they didn’t open them on time. So if you voted in Harris county between 7:00-8:00 last night, likely your vote will not count. It will also likely change the outcome of Harris County Judge, handing Mattress Mac’s gal the win.

I have no real interests in Texas other than the Astros. Watching Texas politics thru the lens of this site and through the media is still a bit shocking sometimes. How can such large numbers of people 1) vote against their own self interests (and those of the people they care about) and 2) how can they continue to find, support and elect such deeply flawed people into leadership positions on a regular basis. It boggles the mind.

You’re assuming they care about anyone, including themselves. Which is why your logic doesn’t compute. Their goal isn’t a better society, or even a better life for themselves, it’s to inflict suffering on others.

Texas is the most voter-suppressed state in the union. The relatively low turnout election after election is created, it’s not because of voter apathy.

Red wave my arse.

It seems clear that Gen Z showed up and it was the antidote to the red wave.

Trump already claiming Republicans who lost did so because they weren’t loyal enough to him.

I think last night showed that the only thing standing between Ron Desantis and the 2024 Presidency is Donald Trump.

I think last night showed that there’s nothing standing between DeSantis and the 2024 GOP nomination. Last night also showed that Democrats continue to win statewide in states they would need to hold the presidency in 2024.

Saw a breakdown that showed every age group was a plus for R’s but for 18-30 which went plus 38 for the D’s. Gen Z will be reliably Democrat forever.

How is it “voter-suppressed?” Take that to mean registered voters were denied the opportunity to vote.

I have absolutely no doubt you will discount the arguments but here are some articles for you to ignore. You can Google more yourself.

Hardest state in the union to get registered.

This is a pretty succinct analysis.
