I don’t need to be rich, just famous.
I thought that scene was one of the least credible moments in an otherwise fantastic sports movie.
Then I watched Jean Van de Velde in the 1999 British Open.
Rickey Henderson never had a 200 hit season?
Surprisingly, never got particularly close, even though he was an on-base machine.
7/9 and a high rarity score. Altuve at 3% was my lowest pick. Vlad at 84% was the highest I’ve ever got.
I wonder how many of the 3000 hit club never had 200 in a season?
Cap Anson had the most hits without ever hitting 200 in season.
Actually, quite a few of the 3,000 hit club never mustered 200 in a single season.
Also Yaz, Eddie Murray, Dave Winfield, and Rickey.
I’d never thought about it before, and I imagine it’s more than I would have thought
Far as I can tell it’s just 5 guys with 3000 hits that never had a season with 200 hits.
You and me both–again.
That got me as well.
Rod Carew at 1%. The way I play is if I can’t immediately think of a Panamanian player that qualifies I just give up. Saves a lot of time.
Biggio was at something like 0.9% for 200H/30SB.
I used Ben Oglivie the other day.
Nice. Roberto Kelly was another possible answer today.
Think I’ll start trying this but with only players from Texas
Willie McGees amazing 1985 MVP season got a 0.9% in the 200 hits/30 SB. He hit .353 (218 hits) with 26 doubles, 18! Triples 10 homers and 56 stolen bases. Also won a gold glove that year.
Vlad the Elder never won the SS? I call bullshit.
