Houston Good Guys @ Seattle Slackers, 7/19/24

Was that a gd shark?

Who was that with Pena? … (And the shark?)

Hader will try to close it out

And Hader gets a pitch timer violation before throwing a pitch

One down

Absolute bat destruction

A shark, yes. They just killed it for no reason. I assume the other guy was the guide, the guy captaining the boat.

Jeremy had to dodge a splintered bat on that out.

Two down

Winner!

Shutout!

First place!

I didn’t see the picture. What kind of shark was it? A Mako or Thresher are pretty good eating.

Game on, Seattle and Texas. 65 more games to see who takes the division.

After starting 7-19, I’m glad the Astros have fought hard to give themselves a chance. Now, Dana Brown needs to add some reinforcements in the next two weeks along with hopefully getting Tucker and JV back.

Vlad Jr.

Toronto is such a wildcard at this year’s trade deadline. They are clearly out of it this year, but will they trade guys they control in 2025 like Vlad Jr., Bichette, Gausman, Berrios or Bassitt. Or, do they think this was just an off year and try and make a run again next season?

The Rangers got wrecked by the Orioles tonight, 9-1.

It looked like a Mako but I really couldn’t tell. If you want to eat a shark, and, yes, there’s plenty of good meat on one, you have to immediately remove the organs or the meat will go bad quickly. I have never seen anyone, ever, do that. I have never seen anyone, ever, prepare a recently caught shark to be eaten. Maybe they did. If they did I will happily acknowledge it. But I’m pretty sure they killed the animal and when they were through taking pictures they dumped it overboard like most idiots do.

They should hit the reset button. I think at this point we have seen what the ceiling is for this Blue Jay team, 90ish wins and an early exit. And in that division, idk if the ceiling is even THAT high. The Yankees and Orioles are not going anywhere, the Rays and Red Sox can be contenders any given year.

If they have a firesale now, in a sellers market, they could be ready to compete in a couple of seasons with a younger version of this core that could be even better. If they weight and try to run it back next year and it doesn’t work, they become the White Sox. Nobody wants to be the White Sox.

I would sell, sell, sell.
